Why I thought a red-eye flight was a good idea, I will never know.

The whole time I was back with my family, I kept calling this place home. I guess that is what it is now. I know my family had hoped I'd go to college someplace closer, but it is what it is.

My abuela also forced me to learn how to cook, since she doesn't trust anyone up north. Be afraid, be very very afraid.

Afraid because you're going to burn the mansion down, or afraid because you're going to burn out our tastebuds? :)

I don't know, both?

Strangely enough, I seem to win at baking.

Not so odd, actually. There's a bunch of us who are bakers, although I think you might be the only guy. We should totally have a bake-off or something!

I think this is a good idea.

Ok, but the food you like is like eating death by fire. Is your baking less likely to kill me?

Perfect! Because I can make it now.

As far away from Kyle as humanly possible.

He's definitely not allowed to steal the pudding.

Just checking.

By the way, having to go to class all summer really sucks here. At least back home everybody would be in classes now...

Forced you to learn how to cook? That's something I'd be interested in seeing.

Well, provided it doesn't turn into some horrible monster, or something. What'd you learn how to make?

The basics, pretty much. Different between pinch and a dash, don't lick the spoon if it's for others, and my rule of "If a little goes a long way than a lot will go even farther" is way off.

My empanadas were pretty terrifying looking, but they still tasted all right, does that count?

I could help you make them look less horrifying, if you want? But them tasting alright is a feat unto itself. When my dad taught me how to cook when I was little, he said how it tasted was the most important part.
